The Great Aquafan Water Park Aquafan was born on 14 June 1987 on the Romagna coast of Riccione. To build the park, 90 km of pipes and 500 km of electrical cables were needed. Special machines have been invented that recreate real ocean waves in the pool which give continuous movement to 8 thousand cubic meters of water heated and purified with cutting-edge technologies to avoid any waste.

The Cattolica Aquarium is located inside buildings dating back to the 1930s, whose shapes recall a naval fleet. The structure was originally conceived as a marine colony to host the children of Italians living abroad. The careful conservative restoration, completed in June 2000, under the aegis of the Superintendence for Environmental and Architectural Heritage, brought the buildings back to their former splendor and enhanced the entire area, rich in history and maritime traditions.
